I am intrigued by the colors, patterns and textures formed by nature, particularly the physical marks and metamorphosis generated by living things and inanimate objects. For many years my camera has functioned as my sketchbook, recording ideas for future reference. I also collect discarded metal objects whose surfaces have been colored and altered by the elements. I integrate the gathered elements into the landscape of the work by using them to physically pattern my raw materials through natural dyeing and rust printing. Nails and rusted bottle caps found on my daily walks are also often incorporated into the finished work.
